Pakistan could not qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2023 to be held on 17th September 2023 between India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan suffered two wicket defeat against Sri Lanka in the last encounter of the Super Four Stage. However, debutant bowler Zaman khan kept his cool as Ice in Debut Clash. Pakistan did not qualify for the Final but the Heroic bowling from Zaman won the heart of many.
Pakistan had had to defend a total of 252 in a rain affected match. Pakistan’s bowling did exceptionally well. The match went down to the wire and was decided in the last over where zaman khan put his best to put Pakistan into the final but as one cannot decide till the last ball of the match.
Interestingly, Zaman khan was initially selected as the back bowler for the remainder of the tournament. However, he just showcased his talent especially in the last over. He almost defended eight runs, in the last over displaying his expertise in the bowling during death over which made him hero in spite of losing the game.
Sri Lanka managed to score the needed runs winning the match and securing their spot in the Asia Cup Final 2023.
